Lipoid Kosmetik has released new data on its novel botanical active HerbaProtect NOX, an innovative sun care and anti-aging active that protects against delayed sun-induced skin damage and premature aging.


Newly obtained in vitro data has reinforced that HerbaProtect NOX reduces light-mediated oxidative stress and prevents delayed UV-induced skin damage. The product also protects against photoaging. According to Lipoid Kosmetik, data from the testing has demonstrated an immediate and long-term improvement of the skin’s antioxidative capacity.


UV radiation is one of the main causes of physiological skin stress and aging. Recent research has shown that UV-induced damage can occur several hours after exposure and even at night. While sun-induced stress is an issue, there are also free radicals that occur in response to a variety of natural and exterior factors and promote premature aging.


HerbaProtect NOX contains three active components: plant extracts from pomegranate flower, perilla leaf and kakadu plum. These ingredients, mixed with a preservative-free, standardized and concentrated glycerol-based solvent system, are being used to fight against the UV rays, visible light or even infrared radiation induced skin damage, said the company.
